How to use MysteriumVPN app (Mac, Windows and Linux)

1. Download & Install MysteriumVPN: Mysterium VPN on Mac/Windows;
2. Click to open the app.
3. Register Identity:
a) To register a new Identity click on ‘Create new’:
b) Create a backup in your device and create a passphrase that will be requested every time you first open the app (you can migrate those files and use your balance in a different device) :
c) *Important* Remember to save your files somewhere you can easily access in case you need it (Desktop):
4. Top up (check further on "Topping Up Your VPN Account"):
- Access the node list by clicking on the home icon:
(select the desired country and node you wish to connect by clicking on country and node respectively and press connect)
- Access Filter settings, Connection Settings & Mysterium ID by clicking on ‘settings’:
a) Quality - Select the quality of nodes (between Any, Medium+ and High quality);
b) Connection - DNS is used to resolve internet addresses. Select Provider for maximum Privacy or Automatic for maximum reliability; Check ‘NAT type detection’ box if you wish to increase chances of connecting to provider nodes; Check ‘Kill switch’ box to ensure privacy remains intact in case connection drops without notice.
c) Mysterium ID - In case you cannot locate or wish to back up your Identity again, click on "Backup" and insert your passphrase. If you forget your passphrase or face
any issues upon back up / import contact us via support chat. In case you would like to import existing keystore .JSON file from your device click on "Restore from Backup" and locate file on your Explorer/File.
- Access Support chat, Bug report, T&C & Documentation by clicking on the ‘help’ tab:
a) Support Chat - if you click support chat, a pop up window will appear and you can ask any questions or raise any issues you might encounter with our support team
b) Bug report - click on the bug report button if you discover a bug while using our app. Describe the problem you are experiencing and include your email so we can contact you if needed.
c) Terms & Conditions - click the tab for all of our important information regarding our terms of use for end users and privacy policy & no-logs pledge.
d) Documentation - This button should take you to our Documentation page in your default browser, where you can explore and read all about Mysterium Network.
- In order to Recharge/Top up your Mysterium VPN balance click on your balance:
a) Navigate to Wallet and Click Top up:
b) If you would like to top up using your MYST, either select the amount or click on one of the predefined amounts 20, 40, 90, 120, 150 or 240. (on the right side you will be able to check how many hours of streaming, browsing, music, and data download each these correspond to) :
c) If you would like to top up usşng a cryptocurrency other than MYST, select your preferred currency and amount (Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Dai, Ethereum, Litecoin, Tether, MYST). Transactions for Bitcoin and Litecoin can be conducted on lightning networks.
d) Send the indicated amount to the given address;
e) If you chose to pay using your credit/debit card a pop up window should appear asking for card information:
f) Once a transaction is verified, it will take up to anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes until your tokens appear in your wallet. You are welcome to try refreshing your balance as shown in the image below: *IMPORTANT NOTICE: In case your transaction fails or your tokens do not appear please report a bug or contact support including transaction details and your coingate receipt (receipt will be available after payment).
- Let’s connect - to connect to the node, select the node ID from the list and click the connect button:
- Congratulations! Your connection is now secure.
